I remember seeing the trailer for this back in 2006 and I said to myself well this looks quite good so I decided to buy the DVD of it in 2008 as a birthday present. I was actually shocked to see how great this movie was. Kicking off old school Disney in 2D animation for 10 mins Giselle is a maiden who is obsessed with love and you guess it true love's kiss. She thinks she found it in Prince Edward(James Marsden)and the two decide to tie the knot. You may think its the end but its about to get real.I mean it transforms into a live action romantic comedy set in NYC.Giselle is sent to this world in human form and she comes out of a manhole in Times Square NYC. Scared and lost she meets a single father named Robert Philip who is a cynical Divorce Attorney in New York. Problem is he doesn't believe in dreams coming true as he had his heart broken before and he is about to pop the question to his girlfriend of 5 years Nancy Tremaine. But as Giselle spends some time with Robert she begins to fall for him and she must choose between him and her prince Edward. The music is brilliant as Amy Adams uses her singing talent in this as she sings 3 songs in this movie True love's kiss,Happy Working song(a rip off of whistle while you work from Snow White)and my personal favourite That's how you know. The cast was enchanting and brilliant Amy Adams is now my favourite actress,Patrick Dempsey was well charming in this movie and their chemistry was brilliant and very good. As for the whole film it may look stupid and dumb at first but as you watch the whole film you will actually fall in love with the whole thing. There may be alot of mistakes that can be spotted but having said that I loved this movie.

Think of it as a female version of Shrek set in Manhattan NYC minus the ogres but the homage/rip off of the good ol days of Walt Disney.

Im giving it a 9/10. Simply brilliant and awesome.
