The comparisons to City of God are a little bit exagerated. This is a very good movie, you should go see it right away. But it cannot be compared to a classic such as City of God. I am just telling you this so when you watch it, you are not dissapointed.
The best thing about the movie is the acting by Wagner Moura. The perspective of the life of police officers outside their job are interesting. One of the scenes where they show some of the training exercises for the Elite Squad is really funny in a sad cruel kind of way.
