My friend and I were lured to the film by the ad that said "erotic thriller". Well, if you call an older man raping a 13 year old girl "erotic"...I don't! And then at 14 she dies in childbirth, the midwife finds her diary and tries to have it translated from the Russian. This movie was creepy and violent and my friend and I both had to cover our eyes several times. I really don't want to see a man cutting the frozen fingers off a dead man's corpse! That was over the top grotesque! I memorized the director's name so I will never make this mistake again...David Cronenberg...NO WAY!
