This movie sparked memories of The Matrix, the Terminator and I, Robot with elements of each in this movie. A pretty decent thriller that kept moving right along with perhaps a chance to catch a breath along the way, but no more than that.
*SPOILER*
Again, like the Terminator movie, you have to wonder how anyone would ever let a computer gain so much control over so much technology that it could decide for itself what the fate of people is.
Like the Matrix, lead characters are led in precise manners to do things that would eventually turn their world upside down.
And like I, Robot, the villain of the story is obvious and yet subtle enough that the movie still engages for a good while before you actually are able to confirm just who is behind it all.
A good vehicle for Shia LaBeouf who once again is cast as a guy flustered by a rapidly unraveling situation where he's mostly along for the ride, but gains his feet and is able to make a difference.
