This is not the kind of movie that parents and children will both like for different reasons. This isn't like emperor's new groove, or Shrek where adults and children both laugh at the jokes directed respectively. It has a strong message that could be taken as anti-capitalism at worst and environmentally friendly at best. Given the light hearted nature of the film I wouldn't go as far to call it anti-capitalistic. It's "cute", with cute characters and puppy love between the 2 main characters. Betty white is the best part of this film playing the grandmother. The 3D is expensive and not worth it in my opinion, There isn't enough that pops or jumps out at you to make it worth 3D. Wait for this to come out on video. I took wife and both kids and payed 41.
