This is a great movie. It's my 2nd all time favorite movie. It tackles the subject of race relations like no movie has ever done before or since. The only reality omitted from this movie is drug usage. The acting in this movie is astounding. It's …more»2 of 3 people found this review helpful-

Quite good. True, the scenes were tough. The characters may be stereotypes. But the story telling and the actions, plus the message, were very well developed. One may agree or disagree with the director's message. I have some doubts, but the problem …more»1 of 2 people found this review helpful-

I think this is a very good film on race. It was the best of 1989, and the best movie in Lee's career. I don't think it was racsist to whites or blacks. It doesn't say any thing about one race without saying something about the other in return. …more»1 of 2 people found this review helpful-

THe begining started out funny, but the end, was terrific. Nobody was really right, but everyone was wrong, or did something to provoke the riot. Spike Lee is a genius.more»0 of 0 people found this review helpful-

Go see my Beautiful Launderette, four years before!!
The story line is is extracted from this English film (Daniel Day-Lewis). Both movies are good, not great, but I cannot believe Lee was not exposed on this. "Launderette" does have a homosexual …more»0 of 1 people found this review helpful-
