Aside from being insightfully irresponsible and grossly overrated, this piece of trash was so wantonly offensive to all Southerners that blacks and whites down here have something new to agree upon. Nevertheless, the movie lacked any shred of historical integrity and boiled down to a producers and directors rant at how little they know about and how much they detest Southerners.
I can't even complement the mechanics of the film. The Southern characters, their accents and dialects, were so unconvincingly absurd that I thought I was watching New Yorkers mock an episode of He-Haw.
Don't worry we all know what you think of us now Tarantino, we're all animals down here, both black and white...we like abusing each other and having sex with our siblings and give it a lick and a handshake. Its a real shame, the concept of the film had a real opportunity to give a black hero to all Southerners but instead it made a mockery out of all Southerners, black and white.
