the movie was great. it was the stuff that slaves probably dreamed of back in 1858. watching this movie, i felt like i was inside of the head of a slave as he slept. and i was watching him dream... all slaves dreamed to be Django. Nat Turner came pretty close. the ancestors, if they could see this film, would be very pleased with it indeed. i'm happy that the film wasn't sugar-coated. it depicted actual things that happened to slaves. like the dogs being allowed to attack and kill runaway slaves; slaves being branded and tortured (including castrated). but i wish he would have included the systemic rape of black women and girls by white men. he skipped over that for some reason.
