With a little more careful writing the move could have been a classic. The acting was good, except for QT’s performance, an obvious amateur actor. The guns were not correct period pieces, having cartridges before the Civil War. The story is interesting and has beautiful scenery at times. The Wyoming shots are good, but the California terrain doesn’t make sense. While a little too long, Dicaprio helps the movie along towards the end. A little less comedy, a little less violence, a little more realist story could have made a classic. I was disappointed, but entertained.
