Beautifully expresses the brutality of Humanity

This movie is disgusting, disturbing, cringe-worthy, and an overall eerie tale of one man's struggle with mankind's harsh nature. District 9 wonderfully intertwines symbolism, terror, and at times an overall sense of helplessness into one yet never has a horror-flick feel.
This isn't just one massive attempt at winning over the more advanced movie-goer either, this film incorporates wonderful visuals and even picks up a healthy dose of action to keep the CGI-obsessed teens interested.
I can't really point out a real weak spot in this movie other than a few plot holes here and there, but those are to be expected in a movie dealing with such an immense topic.
The ending is another one of this films' strong points. It leaves you sad, angry, and keeps a sense of wonder in the viewer that is often ruined by sequels nowadays. Hopefully this isn't one of those films that gets taken over by Hollywood to produce a quick-cash sequel.
