A newbie journalist in war-torn 1983 Beirut soon discovers that his inflammatory articles are costing people their lives. He later discovers that his biggest lead was a set up to make him look like a phony. Armed with more bravado than experience, Alex hops the first flight to Lebanon to cover the deadly double bombing of America's US Marine barracks and France's paratrooper base. In shattered Beirut, he encounters an enigmatic and beautiful news photographer who feeds him an incredible inside tip. He pursues the story and becomes an instant media celebrity.
