Do not sleepwalk through this movie. From the opening monologue, to the tattoos, to the name of the baby, to the worlds of the emergency room nurse, it all means something. Nothing is a throw away. Everything has meaning and ala classic film noir, the single death that take place before the film becomes the engine that drives the movie on to its conclusion. Think of it as a modern version of Orpheus in the Underworld. Rapace is Persephone and Isabelle Huppert is Demetre and you have just walked into Hell.
