Dark Skies(2013)- User Reviews

In all honesty it kind of missed the mark with me. Although I thought it hit on many aspects of daily life such as problems at home, peer pressures and the oldest son coming of age. I still can't recommend this except as a DVD rental. The story started pretty quick with some early suspense and then fell flat. I was a bit disappointed with the kitchen scene, it looked to be stolen right out of the Poltergeist play book. And another bedroom scene where the youngest son was standing face into a corner for no apparent reason was yanked from the Blair Witch Project. The acting was not bad. I thought Dakota Goyo gave a solid performance and I could relate to many things when I was that age. About half way through the movie it stalled a bit and them tried to cram in too much at the end. The writer tries to throw a curve ball at the end but really fails to surprise. If you choose to see it make sure your hungry for popcorn that may take away some disappointment.
