Daens is an extraordinary movie. It's a historical movie that's still valid in our modern times. The interpretation from Jan Decleir as the Priest Daens is amazing. It's like Daens returned from the past. You feel the tense and emotions from this very brave man. The story shows how this man is fighting for his social ideals. When you see the movie you taste the poverty from the helpless people who just want a minimum in life. Daens is their hero but he has to fight against a powerful elite. All this you really sense from the first litte second.
