This film will scare the crap out of you, and that's what it's supposed to do. I had no idea how unsecured all that Russian bomb-grade uranium was, or that so much of it has already been stolen. The scenes of the utterly disintegrating Russian naval base, with the rusted submarines, sunken ships in the harbor, chaotic squatter shacks built on the decks etc., will make you understand viscerally just how out-of-control the decaying wreckage of the Soviet military organization really is. We aren't safe at all--in fact, probably far less safe than before the end of the cold war! These people are stealing U-235 so they can afford to buy REFRIGERATORS and CARS with the cash! Who's buying? Terrorists.

I thought my nuclear fears were bygone paranoia of my youth. Now I realize, realistically, you don't want to live in a major city in these times. It's gonna happen, it's inevitable, and society will come apart almost overnight if it does (as this film predicts chillingly). Think about it--New York gets nuked by terrorists. You gonna drive to work in Chicago the next day? Washington? L.A.? Nuh-uh. You and your family will be fleeing in terror to the most rural relatives--or Motel 6--you can find, to stay for a month or two.
