There is nothing great about this movie. The story and characters are so grossly fictionalize that I had to stop watching. Everyone likes a good story (I do) but no one likes to be totally lied to. Here are the reasons why this movie is so horrible:
1. He was DEAF- He could not hear people he read lips!
2. He was GERMAN- therefore a german accent would be well suited not BRITISH!

I'm not sure why so many women-critics found anti-feminism in this movie. This definitely wasn't Agnieszka Holland's intention (in her own words). But some people could even find Mount Rushmore racist, I guess.

I did not think I would care for this but I like Ed Harris. It started way to gloomy, dark settings and I thought it was going to be one of those heavy Euro-flicks. But soon I was sucked into the story and the characters.
