Hollywood veteran who shot several Cecil B. DeMille films in the 1920s, worked in Hungary with Paul Fejos in the early 30s and proved a versatile studio cinematographer (with Fox and then Warner Bros.) through the 40s and 50s. Married to, and divorced from, actresses Lina Basquette, Virginia Ruth McAdoo and Linda Darnell (1943-52).
