Jules Sitruk

Born in the spring of 1990, French actor Jules Sitruk studied advanced martial arts at a tender age and received a number of national accolades in kung fu well before his 11th birthday. His parents initially nudged him toward talent auditions at age three, but Sitruk's innate shyness (he later recalled that he ran and hid when placed in front of a camera) nixed this possibility for several years. Circumstances changed at the age of eight, when the burgeoning performer aggressively coaxed his father to take him to an audition. Early assignments included parts in the Gallic-produced features Monsieur Batignole (2002) and Moi César 10 Ans 1/2 M 39 (2003). In 2007, Sitruk traveled outside the boundaries of France for a starring role in the offbeat British comedy Son of Rambow. In that film, he plays a slickly arrogant French boy who arrives in a new town and not only sweeps up popularity at a local high school but "steals" a movie production from a pair of local boys. ~ Nathan Southern, All Movie Guide
