An actor of Irish and Greek-Rwandan extraction frequently cast as Indian characters onscreen, Christopher Simpson landed the majority of his assignments in European productions. He began with a supporting role as an immigrant to Britain in a BBC enterprise, director Julian Jarrold's four-hour epic miniseries White Teeth (2002), then teamed up with British cause célèbre Michael Winterbottom for another supporting turn in the #92;sci-fi-charged #92;psychodrama Code 46 (2003). Similar roles followed in projects representing a wide array of genres, including Martha Fiennes' ambitious #92;ensemble film Chromophobia (2005), Kayvan Mashayekh's sweeping, family-friendly #92;adventure drama The Keeper: The Legend of Omar Khayyam (2005), and Penny Woolcock's immigrant-themed #92;ensemble #92;comedy Mischief Night (2006). In 2007, Simpson landed a starring role (one of his first) in Sarah Gavron's politically charged arranged marriage #92;drama Brick Lane, as one helplessly drawn into a romance with the immigrant bride of another man. ~ Nathan Southern, All Movie Guide
