Scott Weinger

With what some might say is a "classically handsome" look, Scott Weinger was on his way to becoming a TV heartthrob when he put his Hollywood career on semi-hold to attend Harvard University in the 1990s. But even attending Harvard did not keep him from working both in front of the cameras and in doing voices. He became the "youth correspondent" for ABC's "Good Morning, America" in 1994. But Weinger is best known for performing the voice of Aladdin in Disney's 1992 animated mega-hit film, and reprising the character in two direct-to-video sequels as well as the spin-off TV series.

Born in New York, but raised in Florida, Weinger got the acting bug at an early age, guest-starred on an episode of "Miami Vice" (shot in southern Florida) at age 11, and also appeared in numerous TV commercials. He convinced his family to move to Los Angeles in 1988, and he promptly made his feature film debut in a small role in "Police Academy 5" and had a more substantial role in the syndicated TV-movie "Hemingway". In an "odd but true" potential trivia answer, Weinger spent the late 80s and early 90s on three different TV series, in each one cast as a character named 'Steve'. He was cocky class president Steve Smith on ABC's "Life Goes On" (1989), Steve Taylor, son of Gregory Harrison, on "The Family Man" (CBS, 1990-1991) and for two seasons had the recurring role of Steve Hale, the beau of Candace Cameron's D.J. on "Full House" (ABC, 1991-1993). Weinger also did the voice of the title role in the 1994 remake of Disney's "The Shaggy Dog" (ABC).
