Philippe de Broca


An assistant to New Wave directors Francois Truffaut and Claude Chabrol, Phillippe de Broca made his directorial debut in 1959 with "Les jeux de l'amour". His best known film remains "King of Hearts" (1966), a whimsical fable about a WWI soldier (Alan Bates) in a French town populated exclusively by former inmates of the insane asylum.
