Teresa Brewer

Best known for her series of catchy, novelty-style Hit Parade singles from the early to mid-'50s -- including the seminal "Music! Music! Music!" -- Teresa Brewer actually caught a second wind in her career some 20 years later. Largely thanks to her marriage to music mogul Bob Thiele in 1972, Brewer secured a spot as a #92;jazz diva, with sessions opposite the likes of Count Basie, Benny Carter, and Stéphane Grappelli. She made her sole cinematic appearance amid the height of her 1950s popularity, in the 3-D #92;musical Those Redheads from Seattle -- a role that enabled her to delve into several onscreen numbers. Brewer died of neuromuscular disease at age 76, in October 2007. ~ Nathan Southern, All Movie Guide
