George Formby

From the late 1930s through the early 1940s, George Formby was Britain's most popular movie comic. With his enormous grin and his ever-present ukulele, he kept audiences chuckling with such low-brow slapstick films as Keep Your Seats Please (1936) and Keep Fit (1937).
