Joan Rice

Onetime waitress Joan Rice enjoyed a brief flurry of popularity in British films of the early- to mid-1950s. Joan's screen debut was in 1950's Blackmailed, after which she settled into demure, ornamental roles. She was Maid Marian in Disney's Anglo-American production The Story of Robin Hood (1953), and Burt Lancaster's vis-a-vis in His Majesty O'Keefe. Retiring from films in 1961, Joan Rice made a comeback as a character actress in the 1970s. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide
