Character actor Marcel Hillaire frequently played Europeans on-stage, in cinema, and on television. Born Erwin Miller in Germany, he changed his name to Harry Furster -- a name he used in his early stage career -- during the Nazi regime and served in the army until he was discovered and imprisoned. Hillaire escaped and fled to the U.S. where he became known as Marcel Hillaire.
