Handsome, expressive Swedish actor who came to the USA in the 1920s, co-starring with such actresses as Lillian Gish ("The Scarlet Letter", "The Wind") and Greta Garbo ("Flesh and the Devil") before returning to his native land at the dawn of the talkie era. He enjoyed continued success in both stage and films in Sweden.
