Anne V. Coates

This veteran editor has credits spanning forty years beginning with the enjoyable adaptation of Dickens's "The Pickwick Papers" (1952). Her projects range from the epic, "Lawrence of Arabia" (1962) for which she received an Oscar, to the claustrophobic, "The Elephant Man" (1980). Her styling can span genres and styles from "Ragtime" (1981) to "In the Line of Fire" (1993). For her editing of "In the Line of Fire," Coates accrued her fourth Academy Award nomination. She netted a fifth Oscar nod for cutting "Out of Sight" in 1998 and reunited with director Steven Soderbergh on "Erin Brockovich" in 2000.
