Bert Schneider

Producer of Hollywood's "new wave" who was responsible for some of the most telling, emblematic films of the late 1960s and early 70s, notably the counter-culture classic, "Easy Rider" (1969). Schneider has enjoyed rewarding associations with Jack Nicholson and director Bob Rafelson, who joined forces on "Five Easy Pieces" (1971) and "The King of Marvin Gardens" (1973). Schneider also oversaw "The Last Picture Show" (1971) and later produced several documentaries including "Hearts and Minds" (1974) and "Gentleman Tramp" (1976). He enjoyed another major critical success with a film also seen as an emblematic landmark of its period in cinema, Terrence Malick's "Days of Heaven" (1978).
