Strapping black actor who graduated from the gridiron to the screen, first gaining prominence as the showboating heavyweight champ in "Rocky" (1976). Weathers has since featured in a number of action films and landed his first starring role in the chaotic demolition derby, "Action Jackson" (1988). He has also found a second career helming episodes of numerous TV dramas.
