Very funny film. Good fun. I think the previous poster missed the point of the film completely. All those elements are what makes the film /funny/ it works with the humor. The horrible thing the grandmother saw in the barn doesn't matter, it's the device itself. The scene of the preacher in the Church is PRICELESS. Excellent satirical piece of victorian era English novels. Picks out and blows apart all the over-emphasized bits from those novels. Stock characters all taken from that background - aged matriarch with an iron fist on the family, waiting for her doom, an over-enthusiastic preacher that spreads the word about the fires of hell, an overly son of the household, etc, etc. Worth watching, funny, cute, and doesn't take much effort to follow or watch.
