it seems like her life would have been interesting, but i didn't feel like i had any real understanding of who coco chanel was, most importantly where this creative energy came from and how she developed it. i am quite sure it didn't come from just hanging around the mansion and riding horses. i also never understood why etienne would have wanted her to hang around. she seemed sullen and unhappy - which i do not blame on audrey tautou, but instead on the direction and the story. or maybe i just don't understand french people...
