I didn't completely understand Cloud Atlas. However, I don't completely understand Picasso and Cubist Art either. Cubist Art emotionally moves me. Cloud Atlas is fragmented and it doesn't connect the dots for you. Rather it presents pieces for you to experience. Then it hopes that you somehow, inexplicably feel something positive. I'm not saying it's well crafted or well made. But I'm saying that when I saw it, and I suspended judgment, I was emotionally moved. In the end, that's really all I want for my money.
