Don't Miss This "Circumstance"

Life is a series of circumstances, none of which we here in America don't take for granted. We can love who we want, we can dance where we want, we can touch when we want. Not so in Iran, where no one, especially today's youth, can act on any of their feelings. This film explores this concept, and you actually feel the oppression that is being experienced in almost every frame. The young girls cannot even communicate in private, where family oppression reigns. The zealot brother(a former drug addict) videotapes his sister's every move within the home. The parents(part of Iran's intelligencia) face imprisionment, if they are caught espousing libralism. This is a unique and very fine film, beautifully done, and one that chills you, makes you think long after it's over, and also makes you grateful for having been born in the USA. To me, one of the year's best.
