Best Sports Movie Ever. Seeming like a collection of dramtic skits-Chariots of Fire carries the beauty, and emotion of nothing before. It gathers a collection of memorable charecters like Sam Mussabini [Ian Holm in an Oscar Nominated role] and Eric Liddell [Ian Charleson] and Harold Abrahams [Ben Cross-Exceptionally Great]. As they go through the twist and turns of life strugling with their religion (Eric Liddell-Strictly Christian...Harold Abrahams-Jewish). They are both runners in the Olimpics [1924 games] until the 'final' heat. They are both men who run...and they run for something-Abrahams: to fit in at Cambridge university...Liddell is running for god. And they will sacrifice everything except honor to complete their goals.
An 'A' masterpiece. A must see.
The Highlight of this film is probably the Oscar winning world famous score. Wonderfully directed, well acted, and has some famous visual scenes...
