Woody Allen has really been cranking out gems recently. He seems to do a couple really deep think pieces and then he'll do a pure nutty screwball comedy, then a few more really deep think pieces. They are all solid gold. Woody Allen is pure genius. Don't fight it America! This movie (like most of his movies), has extremely believable and likeable characters. You care about them, Woody Allen let's you see them think and make real decisions. Great romance stuff, painful affairs, constant nuggets of Woody Allen wisdom. Very, very funny jokes and also subtle deadpan stuff. This movie in particalar really makes you think. It makes you think about how far you would go to get what you want. And at the same time it will make you wonder if what you want is even worth anything at all. Ewan McGregor and Colin Farrell do an amazing job as two brothers finding themselves in a series of horrible crossroads. And Tom Wilkinson is a beast as thier good ole' uncle. And Sally Hawkins is adorable as Farrell's girlfriend. The whole cast is rock solid and Woody Allen steers them like a true master. Watch it and ask yourself what you would do.
