Burn After Reading is alright, but ultimately, a disappointment for the Coen brothers. They follow up Best Picture winner No Country for Old Men with a comedy-thriller with not too many laughs and too few thrills. Even the star-studded cast couldn't make it the Oscar nominee it was trying to be. The only performance looming in memory was Brad Pitt as Chad, but he's not in it that much. It was a good idea at first, but it was too dark for a comedy and too boring for a thriller. And they left the story too incomplete, not making much sense at the end.
