****Caution - Some Minor Spoilers within (that a third graders would've figured out anyway)
This is a poorly written hodgepodge of cliches that Hollywood tries to resurrect with marquee actors who put in marginal performances. Wahlberg, the world's dumbest private investigator, takes an assignment that anyone with a moment of thought will question its logic. The plot can't remain consistent after that and the twists and turns that weren't predictable were completely nonsensical. The characters lack charm or sympathy and you know the writer has run out of ideas when the noble contender for Mayor is named "Jack Valiant"and the incumbent is called Mayor "Hustler" (phonetic). The movie is anticlimatic and the whole plot makes absolutely no sense when you consider how at one point Marky Mark threatens to email the hot doc to everone in the press, since we do live in a world with the internet and cell phone pix and such, but the killings all involve ostensibly smart astute political people who are evidently unaware of all these miracles of technology and get whacked when trying to deliver an original document. Am I reading too much into a #$%$, PI down on his luck story, maybe, but at least give us something to think about instead of how I blew $30 for a movie and popcorn and they can't even pay for a decent script.
