I never knew gross and touching could be synonymous, yet they are ... big time ... in Bridesmaids. Kristen Wiig is an amazing paradoxical mix of real and silly. Chris O'Dowd gets a badge for softening the all of law enforcement with his performance. And, without Melissa McCarthy, this may have been just a really funny movie as opposed to hilarious. It's a chick flick. It's a guy flick. It's a romance flick. It's a comedy. It's a roadmap on how to tell a story through the hearts of really interesting characters (though that map takes a few untraditional turns, thank who ever you pray to!) Great romp. If you're a serious type who likes art house fare, skip it, but if you're a fan of funny, well told slice of bizarre life movies, skip to it: now!
