I've seen almost all the Disney movies and none have rubbed me as wrong as this one. First, the animation and overall plot is great but at times the level of violence and realness of animation can make this a frightful experience for young viewers.
There's also a level of sorcery in this movie that I was uncomfortable with. I don't have children but if I did I wouldn't let them watch this movie. If you're not offended by black magic and such, they I'm sure this movie will be just fine.
Third, the main character is quite rebellious and only at the very end is she truly sorry. She clearly creates the entire conflict yet doesn't show any remorse for it until the very last moment.
There's plenty of parents who probably will say that this movie is great, it's just fantasy or entertainment, and my kids will learn from the character's mistakes and not necessarily pickup the disrespectful attitudes the characters display. That may be true for some kids but for others it may be more of a gateway to darker things.
