Though "Bowling for Columbine" was an interesting idea for a documentary, Michael Moore executes this idea so poorly that it renders the film almost laughable.
First of all, this film is supposedly a "documentary"; that is, if "documentary" means "a bunch of lies". Moore carefully edits interviews and mangles quotes to make his opponents look bad, all cleverly placed between sequences of loaded footage such as a montage of atrocities in war. Especially incriminating is Moore's treatment of Charlton Heston and the NRA. The speech made by Heston during the movie is actually two different speeches that have been twisted and shoved together to make Heston seem heartless and insensitive. This is given away by the fact that Heston's clothing changes during what Moore presents as the same interview.
Heston isn't the only one receiving this treatment. Most of the interviews are laden with clever camera cuts which hide the interviewees' original meaning. Many of this editing was most likely done to negatively portray gun owners and people who sell them.
Overall, this film is nothing more than glorified gun-control propaganda. Moore presents a biased "documentary" in order to turn Americans against the second amendment.
