Do you know Moebius's graphic works? It helps to think of that when watching this movie. I think the story as filmed is tedious, and I'm not a fan of Vincent Cassel - just too French, sorry - but I can see what the filmmaker is trying to do. I love the soaring shots of the landscape, and the final Tron/Alien/2001 drugged dreamy thing is spectacular. As an Eddie Izzard fan, I'm sorry to see the nature of his character's exit. Juliette Lewis is a jewel. The actor who played young Mike, Hugh O'Conor, looks very much like a younger Cassel: clever casting.
I recommend this film to fans of the Western landscape, but not necessarily to fans of Western genre movies. I recommend it to those who like dreamy special effects. And if you're a Vincent Cassel fan, you may wish to have this in your collection.
