I like psychological films and I understand the value of realism and I recognize the pain & misery that this film so clearly depicts. But I did hope for some redemptive value, some ray of hope or message of the beauty of life and love. I was sorely disappointed and actually wish I had not seen this film -- it stays with you and the images are not pleasant. Only if you enjoy seeing all the pain & suffering in life with the message that it is so overwhelming that there is no way one person can make a difference would you derive any satisfaction from seeing this movie.
