Big Miracle(2012)- User Reviews

A bit sappy

star44

An interesting story. Well acted. But what I took away from this more than anything else is how activists can be their own worst enemies. Drew Barrymore does an absolutely wonderful job of playing the environmentalist. And the woman she protrays is clearly well past nuts. She undoubtedly has a very good point but she is so nuts that you can easily not care. Watching this should be required for all the ineffective tree huggers out there because you can clearly see why their cause isn't taking seriously by a lot of people.

DON'T RATE MOVIES THAT YOU HAVE NOT SEEN! Geeez. Common sense people... It doesn't matter how much you liked the trailer, or book, or actor, etc... RATE AFTER WATCHING.

The movie was based on facts. Anyone who doesn't believe it and thinks it never happened is an Idiot. Berrymore befriended the woman she plays in the movie long ago and is still friends with her. The movie wasn't made for any administration and anyone who thinks otherwise is a Big fool.

It's not based on facts. It even says so at the beginning. It says it was inspired by a true story. That means it can all be lies. Now I remember this story very well, and they followed it pretty good, but the writers had to push their liberal agenda and it ruined it somewhat.

The store is based on a true story the wales were trapped in the ice. No one can say what was said at the time because it wasn't recorded. Ronald Reagan was president at the time and he did things then, that people would say that are "liberal" now. Anyone to suggest that someones going to produce a movie to loose millions of dollars for a "liberal agenda" is an Idiot.

Have you heard of google and bing? All you have to do is search and you will find it is a true story.

I saw this movie yesterday, and it was a good family movie. When people write comments like this, they either didn't see the movie (my guess) or is only trying stir things up with comments about politics in general. Either way, Elvash's comments are way off-based and shouldn't be taken seriously. This was a good film for all ages, and being based on a true story made it even better.

Clearly paranoid if you really think Yahoo screens for pro-liberal content. What a narrow minded and inaccurate review! I went to see this movie right after reading this review. I kept looking for the scene where the Drew Barrymore was revealed as a "lesbian" - it wasn't there - clearly revealing the reviewer's biggoted view of both liberals and lesbians. The message I got from this movie was that everyone won. Whatever each factor's individuals motives, they all came together to meet one goal together - wish our current Congress could get the message. This was a win-win movie: The oil tycoon's wife (his political bent was never revealed) made him see how it was good PR for him - and he ended up making a fortune later cleaning up the Valdez spill (isn't that good?); the little business men from Minnesota made a name for themselves and profited from their involvement. Good for them! The media were in it and made names for themselves. Good for them! The Russians came into the game and helped international relations. Good for them! The President's aide convinced him that it would be good political PR and good for the Republican campaign. They won the election. Good for them! The Inuit people decided that it would be better PR if they saved the whale vs eating them and their tribe benefitted as a result. Good for them! The Drew Barrymore character was portrayed as a little emotionally over the top, but Green Peace saw a 400% increase in their membership. Good for them! So everybody became involved for their own motivations, some for their personal benefit, money, reputation, whatever - but can't people have more than one motivation? Once they all became involved, their hearts were in it. One of the key scene is where the oil tycoon credits the Green Peace activist for initiating this effort ; she tells him that he's hard to hate, and he reciprocates. The above reviewer is clearly looking through the binoculars from the wrong end!

Have you ever watched Fox news or do you base your comment on those of your fellow government employees. Try thinking for yourself!

James - Put down your T-cup and relax. Obviously it was written as a joke.

I'm curious to know what movies you think are good....and are apolitical...every movie has someone's point of view in it....left of left or right of right.
But I'm looking for a feel good movie that won't increase paranoia about the world, its evil people and the possibility of looming doom....sounds like this one is it.
    • RyanR 3 months ago
Well, if you think that all Republicans are evil, then this movie is for you. That is pushed to the hilt here.

This movie is inspiring and heart lifting and no way doom and gloom and paranoid. Yo u really shouldn't judge a movie without seeing it.

come on it comes from HollyWIERD what has ever come from there that isnt bent to the left??? Just look at any movie or TV show the police & military are corupt moronic dimwits EXCEPT the bleeding heart liberals. All conservitives & christians are racists corrupt, evil & stupid. BUT there is no bias in the media or entertaiment

I don't agree that all Republicans are evil. I know some decent Republicans. Generally, they are just not too bright, like this whacko. It's true that a movie that deals with compassion, nature or truth will probably not appeal to this type of person, who sees a sinister political motive behind every rock.

Seriously? Maybe just a little paranoia going on here.
