I hadn't heard of this movie until I saw it in the new releases at the video store. I nearly didn't rent it but I'm really glad I did. It's one of the best movies I've seen in a long time. It has a unique look and rhythm. The humor was bittersweet and the characters were excellently crafted and acted. Definitely a chick flick, but not as much as you'd think. In spite of being about grief, the movie contains a lot of tongue-in-cheek humor and it goes out of it's way to avoid the subject of grief purposely - all part of the lead character's journey. The lead actress was a breath of fresh air in her portrayal.
