I saw this on VOD and was very impressed by the performances -- Pattinson in particular -- and the overall beauty of the production. It wasn't perfect -- choppy and uneven in parts, but that is the fault of the inexperienced directors, not the actors.
Now that Robert Pattinson has earned some respect from critics with his resounding success in Cannes (in David Cronenberg's Cosmopolis), it would be nice if the critics who slammed his performance in Bel Ami would go back and view it again without their Twilight-tinted glasses skewing their perceptions.
