Badlands(1973)- User Reviews

Having no expectations or preconceived idea what the movie was like, I was pleasantly surprised by this quirky Bonnie and Clyde-esque movie. It was funny to see Martin Sheen picking up trash, much like Charlie does in Men At Work. But the biggest parallel of note is that of True Romance, with the narration of Sissy Spacek, copied very closely by Patricia Arquette. Also, the theme song of the soundtrack is very similar to the one in True Romance. Though there is a good amount of action and blood, Badlands makes the viewer much more unsure of whether he wants to root for the main characters or not. Though quirky, and a bit uneven, this movie sets an interesting bar for many movies that came later.
