Leave your brain at the door, you will not be needing it for the next hour and fortyfive minutes. This is the perfect popcorn movie.
A police department that is about to shut down finds itself host to a slew of criminals on New Years Eve during a blizzard. Problems come from the fact that one of the criminals is a gang boss that can finger a group of corrupt cops, so the bad cops plan an assault on the precinct that leads to a brittle teaming between good cops and criminals. Everyone does well enough with what they have to work with, but the problem is there just isn't all that much to work with. Guns go off ad nauseum, and I do have to give credit for the movies willingness to kill of major characters in brutal ways, but don't you think someone as smart as they are telling us Ethan Hawk and Lawrance Fishburne are would have thought to pull a fire alarm? ( C+ )
