DISAPPOINTED - I saw some potential as some of the charcters developed, but halfway through the movie the plot takes over and the characters reveal themselves as shallow and hardly true-to-life. The plot became stupid and not credible. This made the final twist (which is an amusing idea) pretty unbelivable too. I liked the set design, some of the simple caricatures. A few of the swipes at art types and the art industry hit their mark, but mostly were contrived and weak. A few actors were BAD - the roomates, the family members of the kids. I liked Joel Moore as the charcter Bardo. He did a good job. Sophia Myles had potential as Audry, but she wasn't permitted to make the charcter any deeper. Max Minghella, as Jerome was probably the biggest disappointment. He could not make the motivations of his charcter understandable and that is where I lost the suspention-of-disbelief. I was interested to see him in a romantic lead, as he does have an interestig look and presence. That might have been a better story.
