Why Armageddon is flawed...

You must be wondering what there could be wrong about Armageddon. It's a mess that doesn't always take its serious situations seriously. In other words, they use comedy at the wrong times.

Armageddon is about how a meteor is going to hit the Earth and then after that, Earth will explode. Bruce Willis is some guy working in the oil business who takes his co-workers with him to destroy the meteor. But the worst part is, he wants to kill Ben Affleck because he's in love with his daughter(Liv Tyler). Now because of the scene where he's trying to shoot Affleck, it makes him look like the character he plays in The Whole Ten Yards. You see, Bruce Willis is not meant for comedy films(except for The Kid) because he seems too rugged and is meant for action and thriller films. And the crew that's supposed to destroy the meteor carries too much jokes with them. If Armageddon were a more serious film, it would probably be a better one.

So as I said, Bruce Willis is not really meant for comedies. I miss the kind of roles that he had in The Sixth Sense, Unbreakable, and though I've never seen any of the Die Hard movies, I'm sure he was awesome in them. But not this film. In the end, he makes a tragic choice for the sake of his daughter and Affleck. I can't bear to see that again. I understand what Roger Ebert meant when he wrote a review for this film.
