First off, I have to start off by saying that this movie is not for everyone. It's extremely long, violent, and at some points a little dull. That being said, It's brilliant. Unlike most war movies, this was filmed on location, and it shows. The scenary is absolutely stunning and you get the feeling that you're really on the front line with these soldiers. Additionally, Martin Sheen puts on a performance, as a military assasin, that you won't want to miss. Likewise, Coppola does some really interesting things with the camera. The ending might be a little hardcore. Not because it's violent but just because it makes you think so much. It turned me off a bit, and I'm sure it'll turn off most casual viewers. However, as you can probably tell, I really loved this movie and I think the case can be made that it's better than the Godfather. Coppola put so much on the line just to make this movie and it was well worth it. Anyone who is a fan of war films should definitely watch it.
